I think that 2co should have solved their problems instead of changing their website design. Their customer support is almost inexistent and there are other issues that should have been on the top of their priorities list. I guess that you are a lucky case. Good luck...

In comparison to 18-24 months ago, 2Co is vastly improved IMO Emilio.

So as the other payment processors I guess .... And I am talking about the fees which IMHO play the most important role in a merchant's business. While the other try to offer better services and lower fees, 2co keep their high fees and change their website design. At least this is how I see things ... Maybe I have a twisted way of seeing things but in the end what is more important for all of us: their fees or how fancy is their website design ? I say fees ... and they did NOTHING about that.

I specifically was referring to a bank acct. used for cc processing only. If that is what you are doing what bank do you use or recommend...If you don't mind. Are you saying you can just have an acct. w/ paypal and keep x amt in it? That is worth considering. They appear to require a validated bank acct. to be attached tho which I don't want to be the main business acct. I have a business acct. for many yrs, but I really don't want that to be mixed w/ cc processing. I could just open another bank acct there, but the fees can add up. I do keep certain amts to avoid fees. I don't really want to give a cc processor full access to my main bank acct. Cash flow is important and frankly I trust any cc processor less than reg banks.

I really don't have a bank I'd recommend. I like my credit union, but thats my personal, not biz account. I'm with Bank of America right now, but that is NOT an endorsement.

Yes, I carry a modest balance at PayPal, and use their debit (not credit) card. I'm careful though to keep the PayPal balance below what I can stand to lose in case I suddenly become one of those horror stories.

They changed their web design becuase a large percentage of their customers have complained that they had an antiquated and rather inadequate site, I see the change as a very positve thing actually. The change also enabled things like setting base prices in alternate currencies, also another improvement.

It's also possible to get lower fees with 2Co, in fact if you've been with them long enough you were entitled to a .5% decrease in fees about a year ago.

Theres always a small percentage of customers who are unhappy no matter how good a company is, I guess maybe your just falling into that percentage in this case.

I agree. If 2CO was that bad then it wouldn't have so many vendors selling their products and services with them. And I have never had any problems with them, except for a check getting lost in mail once which they cancelled and re-sent for me. Excellent support I would say rather than no support!

Always keep an extra credit card processing account ready to take orders as a backup, just in case (speaking from experience). I use: 2checkout.com

It's easy to open an account and the charges are reasonable, no need of any monthly activity and no monthly charges. Their new system is great and support is also good.

Paypal pretty much insists that the pro accounts are linked to a bank account. A bit more comes in than I spend with the PayPal debit card, so I do transfer to the bank. It's a package deal account, free because I keep a balance in the savings account, but (deliberately) is not linked for overdraft protection, so PayPal can't steal from it if they go psycho on me.

It's a pain to keep track of it all, and move money as needed, but as sombody famous probably said, "The price of security is eternal vigilance!"

Does anyone of you has any experience with ikobo's ikard (debit card) ? I don't understand why do people prefer their ikard over a bank account. I mean, besides the fact that you can withdraw your funds from practically anywhere what more can you do with that card? Is it safer than working with a common bank account ?

You are doing a good thing by separating your bank accounts. You never know what might happen. Better safe than sorry.
