It appears that they are still doing business. The issue was with Visa/Mastercard tightening the reigns on 3PP (3rd party payment processors) which is what PaySystems has always been.

Although, over the past couple of months, they struck a deal with some overseas bank to provide actual merchant accounts for their IBA account customers. They were in the process of transfering customers over to full merchant status when something went wrong. Paysystems ability to process transactions was cut and everything came to a halt. That is, for customer whom were not transferred over in time.

The odd thing is that PaySystems dispatched a Dear John, letter to their remaining customer base (those whom did not have the luxury of being transferred to merchant status).

"We are sorry to inform you but you will need to find another means of processing your transactions."

All the while, customers whom had been transferred to merchant status continued to function and process transactions. In addition, PaySystems continued to accept applications and approve customers for their new services under the rubric of merchant accounts.

This gives one pause and makes you wonder why they did not just invite you to reapply for a new merchant account with them. The whole issue is fishy and questionable. The important part for me is that they did settle all recent transactions. "They showed me the money!"

However, I am still at least six months from pay out of my holdback fund. Which is fine by me.

If you would like to read the novel, here is a link to a thread on WHT which should fill in the gaps.

craigdunlop,

The same problems we are experiencing. The support folks, James and Carly
have been great in dealing with this, but all they can do is something like
reboot. When they are informed about the problem. There is no mechanism
to insure support is informed about the problem.

Something has to be done quickly. There is no way for anyone to know when
this occurs. We are not online yet, but it appears to me that all active resellers
would be loosing ever customer that tried to sign up. Experienced the error. Unless
some customer is patient enough to contact the reseller and work through the
problem.

Hi folks, new here! Obviously.
Been screwed by paysystems as well and are on the lookout for viable alternatives. What do you guys think about moneybookers or ikobo? Both seem to have their pros and cons. Opinions?

I was very close to opening an account with Paysystems and now I am glad I selected 2checkout. It's been great all these months.... very responsive support system too, just like Vortech!

Always keep an extra credit card processing account ready to take orders as a backup, just in case (speaking from experience). I use: 2checkout.com

It's easy to open an account and the charges are reasonable, no need of any monthly activity and no monthly charges. Their new system is great and support is also good.

may I suggest payquake, or if your looking for better customer service at a bit higher fee, e-onlinedata. I have signed up resellers here on both and no serious complaints yet. I use payquake myself. Must be a U.S. based business. Both links are in my signature.

Thanks for your suggestions guys, but I was more interested in those two I listed since they seem to be more appropriate for my needs. Ikobo in particular since they say they send you a free visa card to withdraw the money from any ATM. I'm looking for something relatively cheap, you see.

Yeah, I thought so myself, I'm just glad that someone with more experience than me agrees. I'll look into this some more and post back, so far ikobo has made the top of my list (not a very long one though )

By the sounds of it, Ikobo has had their share of problems, but are getting better because of it. Sounds a little like a certain hosting company I signed up with nearly 2 years ago.
