DNS Zone Data transfers

I've been running some tertiary nameservers lately getting ready to set them up as a permanent 3rd nameserver for my service and other important domains (just as a precaution if Vortech DNS falls over or is unavailable).

Lately though my DNS servers have been unable to take copies of the zone data from Vortech servers .. has anything changed there at all, it used to work OK and seems to have only stopped recently.

Whats the history of the dns server here been like? I mean they are fairly reliable, and the times that they have been down, so have the servers havent they?

No real problems, but when you have things like DDoS attackings slowing things down you get problems. my important domains I'm putting up external DNS servers for them as many of them are hosted off-site as well .. for instance my support forum doesn't run on Vortech's servers becuase that would be kinda pointless when we have an outage.

It seems to be working ok actually now too .. perhaps the DDoS was casuing my earlier problems.
