Server Down Time

Why was the Mail Server and so was teh other NT Servers down.

Please any admin explain.

We had a brief outage this morning, involving the entire network, but still not quite sure what the issue was. It appeared as though our Upstream Provider was OK, so we reloaded the Firewall and Router in sequence, and everything came back. We're preparing to install Barney in the next two weeks, and this new device should pretty much eliminate these types of issues.

so thats what happened to Barney. I suppose washed up purple dinosaurs find it hard to get work, and notifying people of their network problems problably pays well

You should be getting a noice about MR. Barney in just a few min..

I forgot all about till about 20 min ago.. Getting that in next week will fix a LOT of these issues and will add even more bandwidth to us as well..

And unlike the dinosaur doesn't make you feel queasy, but rather warm and fuzzy.
Why in the world someone thought to take a giant prehistoric predator and make it a dancing kiddy pal w a doofy voice is beyond me.
