Just want to say thanks so much for helping me out fast this morning. I have pinged my nameservers and they are now currently resolving to the new ones (woot)... took a phone call to my registrar with a conversation that went kinda like - yesterday you told me that it would take 12 hours to resolve that was at 8:30 am so 12 hours would be 9 pm last night... So it seems (depending on registrar) it can take anywhere from 12 - 72 hours.

I don't know what to do my registrar lost my data and restored from an old backup and all the old IP numbers are in there again for my nameservers and they have informed me that it will take them 24 hours to fix it.

Yeah I came unglued with them and insisted they do it faster to which I got the pat response - ma'am all we can do is send it out and it takes as long as it does nothing we can do to expedite it.

These guys are going to put me out of business.

Switch registrars.. there are plenty of good ones out there that won't cost you an arm and a leg... I like GoDaddy (Although their interface is a little cryptic), or you could just transfer your domains to us through OpenSRS (Contact billing@vortechhosting.com for details).

I am going to switch to godaddy after they fix this - I am afraid if I initiate a transfer that they wont fix the numbers.

BTW I have tried transferring this domain before and they don't do it - do I have any recourse?
