What's wrong with GoDaddy? They only charge US$8.95 per year...

I find nothing wrong with them, I se them for all of my domain names, very nice interface for making changes on mulitple domains, and they have a reseller program as well.

Incredible though, the amount of advertising on their site!

While I have your attention , I need to change the domain name I signed up my account with... how easy/hard is it to do that?

Hey Brangwyn,

Well, this is step one... yes, a reseller is quite different... I have not gone full throttle.

My business is not big enough for me to put forth the cost in becoming an actual registrar.

Maybe someday....in my hopes and dreams to be that large.

OpenSRS has the API or something similar, and it is no additional set up cost, but I then have to get an authroized credit company, as of now, I have it interface with my PHPAYPAL cart and it is working out rather well.

antic, changing the service domain can be difficult, if you have NO customers it is a bit easier, contact me one day on MSN or yahoo (prefer MSN) and I will help you out.

Very interesting! I thought I had looked into them. As of now, I had to pay to be an OpenSRS reseller, only a set up fee. Not a big deal. I still have it.

I will have to explore other options as well though. There isn't a monthly fee or anything like that?

There are many options for buying domains...

I give out retail eNom accounts at $8.14 per domain and reseller accounts at $8.95 but Rackshack has everyone beat at $5 dollars per domain. It is hard to beat them . I still love eNom .

Retail (No Setup fee and no deposit)
Reseller (No Setup fee, 100 dollar deposit)

Mark

To become a top level reseller at enom does cost $ I think its around 1000 or something but iirc its credited to your account too

To do it for basically nothing (just have to deposit $100 so you can use your account) you become a reseller of a reseller just as Funnyhats offer above for $8.14, Funnyhat may even be a reseller of a reseller as well, but it doesn't matter really. If you want the absolute lowest price on domains you need to be a top level reseller, but even 2nd and 3rd level resellers still can offer pretty compettitive prices.

Your customer's credit card will show enom's name instead of your company's name, though -- if that's something you are concerned about.

I use ECHO for credit card processing. Therir rates are very good and there are no hidden fees, contracts, etc. Signing up with them was harder than I thought (paperwork! paperwork!), but has been great ever since. Another thing that I liked about them is that you do not need to provide them with your compnay bank account info (it always scares me).

If you decide to signup, please use my reseller link. That way you can get a $10/month merchant account (usually $15/month) and I get some commission as well .

If only I lived in the US looking at new payment processors shortly, 2Checkout service has just sucked the last week, their servers have been under a DDoS or something

Look at paysystems, they have a couple of currencies and lower fees.

I have the same problem btw. For my currency, either I pay a huge setup fee (over $1000), or I pay for a combination of setup and monthly fees wich just suck too much dough...

I've looked at paysystems about a year ago and unfortunately feature wise they seem to be worse than 2Checkout. 2Co supports around 11 or 12 different currencies, and through them I've also been able to get a US based Intercash Cheque Account + ATM Card which I can use to withdraw my funds from here in NZ. Paysystems doesn't seem to have anything like that from what I can tell.
