Can't totally delete a site

I'm trying to delete a site. There is no problem with the control panel, Hsphere deletes the site from de control panel but do not delete the site's root folder. I try to manually delete this folder but I have not permission to delete the folder: aspnet_client that is inside the root folder so the site is still there.

Any idea?
Thank you.

I find that deleting via h-Sphere never totally removes the root folder(s).

Used to use CuteFTP and FTPagent -> both had trouble removing folders. I know use FlashFXP and never have any problems.

This happens regularly, trick is to make sure to turn .net off before removing the domain from the control panel. You should be able to delete the folder in 24 hours or so after the next iisrecyle or machine reboot I've found.

Are you sure you didn't have it enabled by default in the plan?

I have had the same problems, and just sent in a TT to have them delete the files.

Well the aspnet_client folder is not created unless .NET has been activated, and thats the one that always causes me problems if I've forgotten about it.

Personally I use www.smartftp.com its my favourite client.

Gee... no one believes here today

jmbeach: Its wasn't enabled by default. When I created the plans my learning curve was like -10 and decided that until I learnt more I'd leave it 'off'.

Brangwyn: I used smartFTP - > still had the odd hiccup with though... may be just struck lucky with FlashFXP?

sorry to second guess you

Ah, I know what you mean about the learning curve - my problem was that I turned everything ON to be sure I didn't forget anything. That really opened my eyes when I had all this extra crap running that I really had no use for

No worries

I made a plan with everything as an 'option' then enabled them one by one to see what happened / what they did -> problem is I still don't know

I just try:
Disabling everything before delete (ASP, ASP SECURED and ASPNET)
I try using FlashFXP and SmartFTP

I doesn't work. I remove this site more than a week ago.

I went into webshell today and was finally able to remove the folders for a deleted domain. Hope that helps.

Weird?

I know I've had problems in the past... but everything has been deleted fine recently.

If the techies don;t resolve this for you (i.e. they just don't delete the domain on your behalf), I'd be happy to move a spare domain from one account to another just to try it and may be throw some light on it?

Let me know what happens....
