silverbug, the your non-secured CP is 8080 as well, you might want to try and see if that works, if so it isnt your firewall

Ok found out why i was having trouble getting to it.

Turns out the ip that you are using for that site use to be an iana reserved ip, which was only released end of last year. hence the firewall in the building didnt recognise it as a valid ip and wouldnt let me at the site.

This is great! However, I have a suggestion that 'I" think would be nice. Could you have 1 of the email alerts goto the mailing list to resellers? I 'think' if this was automatic, resellers would have a heads up if customers call. Thus keeping tt's down as well. If I am on-site it would be very helpful to get an email to my phone so I would know outside the office. Thanks.

Only potential problem I see with this is that we could potentially get dozens of emails for even tiny things like reboots - If I'm not mistaken, some of these machines may get reboots daily. Then again, I'm probably mistaken

Actually that might not be a bad idea, what about an alert that after 5 failures send a message to the reseller mailing list, that way a servers been down for at least 15 minutes or so which is probably long enough to say its having more than just a reboot etc ? pretty sure you can do that in ipMonitor, don't have one running at the moment to check though.

Only problem I guess with that is people are still going to want to see something posted in the forum etc etc ... maybe a script wizard could take the email and generate a forum post from it too and save somone some work ?

Well the immediate notification reboots or not gives resellers a heads up. Which is the whole point. Personally who cares if you get notified of reboots. Why not get notified? You might have a customer tryin to do somethin then. If you can customize the alert then that would be meaningful. Then you know what is going on. Why bother with the delay? After 15min A customer could have already called you. Just ignore it or delete it.

mresell,
I doubt that will happen, Matt (Bladesnitz) will be working on a server status page where you can go to get the latest updates at one place anytime. That is coming fairly soon (don't ask for an ETA from me, maybe from Matt, he knows his schedule better than me).
