Exclamation Watch out! Major billing problem

The is a flaw in this system that needs to be resolved.

If you setup a 10 year plan for your customer and you happen to use more than what you've prepaid Matrix for (You use an extra dedicated IP), then Matrix will charge you for that IP for 10 years.

This is not the right way to bill this. If you have a monthly plan with Matrix, then they should bill you monthly for features you use, not based on what deals you have with your customers.

Just another flaw in the system...

Yeah I've had that one bite me before too, I agree it should bill you based on the Reseller Plan frequency, not the Customer Plan frequency

That is not a flaw or bug. Its just the way the system is designed. If you are setting up an account for 10 years then you should be planning to keep it for 10 years.. So the system goes ahead and charges and gives you the space or IP or what ever for 10 years and charges you right then.

Bank of America is dumb enough to do it, they signed a 10 year deal with a big company (sprint i believe) for bandwidth pricing, on todays standards! The company will be making a killing for a little bitty line in 10 years.

It's not an issue about how many years, I could offer lifetime hosting if my marketing could sell the idea and if people were willing to buy it.

The point is, how can you charge us for a different billing period that the one we agreed on?

My customer will stay with me wherever I go if he signed up for a long period of time. Matrix has nothing to do with this. I pay monthly for what I use.

And this is a flaw because if you stay within you account's limit you won't face this situation. You're free to sell lifetime hosting and pay monthly. This is the normal situation with any host.
Only those extras have problems. Stating that it's just the way it is, is unsufficent. Psoft should seriously work on this if this flaw come from their system.

There is nothing we can do about this issue. This is how the system works at this time. I would sugest posting this issue on psoft.net and see if they are willing to change it..

But I understand why its this way.. We are still billing you 100% the same you just gave your customer IPs for 10 years that is why you are charged for 10 years..

We can't give you credit for this 10 years either because if you go in the system and now change it to per month you just got 2 credits. One from us for 10 years and one from the system for 9 years and 11 months.

So you have to pick one of the 2.

Bank of America is on a whole other planet compared to this issue. At least in my way of thinking. They are a MAJOR bank, thus they would need a commitment for a substantial amount of time, from a provider. Plus comparing $1.00 IPs to 27 OC-48 lines is like comparing apples and oranges.

Yes Vixen, I know they are totally different, but I still thought it was outrageous when I read it and Bank&Technology News a couple months back.

Already posted on Psoft

I understand that you cannot do anything about it right now and I can temporarly deal with this, but it doesn't make sense to be billed monthly for space and bandwidth and yearly for a dedicated IP per example.

You are would be billed for the space as well if it went over your free space as well.

e.g. You have 1500MB used and your plan gives you only 1500MB if you set up a plan for 10years for 100MB you would get charged 100MB x 10 years at that time as well.. Same for IPs disk space and all as far as I know.

Yep, but consider this.

1500MB, 10 users, each with his dedicated IP.

I bill them anually. I should be billed monthly.

What happens is the following :
I get billed monthly for the disk space and some IPs and anually for the other IPs that are not included in my plan. I'm sorry, but this is illogical.

Another example : One customer pays 100MB anually. It's part of my plan with you, so I pay you monthly, but the day he uses 1MB more, I owe it to you anually.

You're not a bank I don't want to deposit money on your account to cover the future expenses of my customers.
