This is the kind of s#!^ that really pisses me off...

Not the folks at Vortech.. it is that some bonehead does this DoS stuff in the first place. Really... what did they gain by doing this. I bet it is some zero-social-skills uber geek that thinks he is so cool now and that chicks dig him because of this.

Thanks for the info guys, most of the network has been looking good for the most part for a while. flashpoint, please don't take offence, but if you want a truly redundant network with multiple upstream peers and hardware even remotely capable of withstanding a co-co-ordinated DDoS attach, then you need to look to somewhere that charges at least 10 times what Vortech does just to be able to even afford the type of stuff needed to withstand this type of thing. I have a few external monitors on some of Vortech's network and the odd link to some MRTG graphs still and from what I was seeing it was a pretty heavy attack and I'm actually surprised to be honest that they managed to negate it (for the most part) fairly quickly.
