Looking for software

Hey all,

Im looking for some web based software (pref php, but im not that fussed on language) which can be used to create content and have an intergrated shopping cart. The key though is that it need to be themed, so pre loaded themes can be changed quickly and easily.

Anyone know of anything like that?

joomla has a cart but a customer has to register and respond to the confirmation email before anything can be bought. ISTRC seeing a couple of mods to get around that though. The cart's supposed to be a little light - I don't think it handles complicated SKU situations.

Yeah I need it to be a dummy proof and simple as possibly. and im thinking that if the admin to joomla is anything like mambo was, then its going to be far too hard for them to get their heads around

How integrated does the cms and cart have to be?
If it doesn't have to be really tight you might think about wordpress and oscommerce. If you use any portal, at some point the cart would propably need to kick out to ssl anyway.

Yeah same issue with oscommerce. It needs to be easy to template, the person templating it has very limited programming knowledge, and i know they have had trouble with osc in the past. but it doesnt need to be that intergrated. A php version of candypress would probably be idea. It needs to be php too.

Me thinks, http://virtuemart.com being the Joomla + phpShop integrated solution is one of the best and easiest. The templating system is quite easy if one is good in CSS and some php. Best part is the whole stuff is free.


There are lots of freelancers available to modify/create just the template one is looking for. Get a whole list of templates done up and change whenever you like. I did a job for http://semquest.com template on mambo through http://mambolance.com and could even arrange an online tutorial on templating if required.

Thanks i'll check it out. Its not actually for me, rather someone i know. Normally the whole template thing wouldnt bother me, but she's not as technically minded.
