FTP and SSL (FTPS)?

Does Vortech/H-Sphere support FTPS on Windows? Just worried about FTP passwords being captured and thinking about the option to invest in FTPS, but want to make sure it can be configured/supported. Thanks.

It is enabled by default on all Unix servers. You just need to connect to the server using a TLS capable client.

Yeah, if your ftp client supports sftp. Need a ssh shell account tho, unless something has changed. What you can do is use plink and create an encrypted tunnel for regular ftp also.

sftp is a different animal altogether, but that or FTP w/ TLS can be used.

No, I thought sivaa wanted to know about SFTP? If I hadn't enabled an ssh account I couldn't use it. I know SSL/TLS is different

What is the final answer about FTP over SSL? Any specific settings for my client that I should be aware of? When I try implicit mode the server returns AUTH not understood, and explicit mode rejects my key.
