Hsphere Ftp Accounts

How do you add additional ftp account users to hsphere? I want to add a test ftp account so I can have a programmer upload some items to test but don't want to give him my serviceplan account user\pass. I made a subdomain...test.mydomain.com and is there a way to make a ftp account to upload to that subdomain?

If you've created a unix based service plan you could add a sub-FTP account very easily. Heres a tutorial:

If its windows, you'll have to create a new user with the sub-domain and give them that login information for FTP.

Do you have a link to the documentation or what section it's under. I looked and couldn't find it. Made the subdomain but couldn't find the add user. It's a windows account. So used to cpanel that's I find it hard to get all these locations down.

Actually I'm not too sure what Craig was referring to there either, its not possible to have sub-ftp accounts on windows using HSphere.

I think maybe he meant create a new user CP in which you put the subdomain, but you cannot do that if the main domain is already being used somewhere else.

Maybe a third level domain - but then don't you have to register it?

In the end, if you're handy with ASP you could always write a script that uses an upload component for this person to use - then you just give them their own password, if you want to password protect the upload page.

That's what I would do on the windows side.

No firm ETA it's still being beta tested, don't count on it being any earlier than another month, probably two, I'm sure Brad is going to wait till a few other hosts have installed it in production environments and let them be the guinea pigs
