You got me there. Is it like "God" in a supreme way or like "Godzilla" meaning earth shaking?

Life is short...either way.

Godzone;
Generally accepted, by New Zealanders if nowhere else, as an alternative name for New Zealand.
When Richard Seddon, Premier of New Zealand around 1900, returned from one of his overseas trips he reportedly said it was good to be back in God's Own Country (abbr. godzone) and the term was adopted, semi-ironically.

Any earthquake is scary. In the 60's, around 1969, I was on the freeway in Los Angeles area (actually Camp Pendleton), and a small earthquake rattled the area, and knocked overpasses down on the highway.

I have spent the last 35 years restoring telephone cables and systems after hurricanes, tornados, floods and storms. But earthquakes still scare me more.

i like the volcanoes personally as they keep the earthquakes away.
(actually i don't think i live on one silverbug, but i theres enough of them around me to keep me snug at night).
Besides, I'm much more worried about triffids.
