Prevent linking to images / graphics?

Anyone have any suggestions about how to prevent people linking to graphics / images on a web site?
I did see a reasonably good bit of software advertised some where – just can’t remember where
Is there any thing to stop these bandwidth robbers?

Forgot to add – I need this for ‘windows’ not UNIX, (where I could use a .htaccess file to prevent hotlinking of images).

I used to use anti-leech back in the day to protech downloads. It seems they have grown immensely, take a look at http://www.anti-leech.com. Otherwise you might find some scripts that do the same thing, you might want to check http://www.hotscripts.com.

Best of luck!

might that be of any help? It might need to be modified, but I have not even tried it out, it might be perfect, it might be one to add to the garbage heap too.

I only noticed this problem around amonth ago, but it seems to be growing, I've sent email etc.. but they just get ignored - hence time for some action

I need to check some of these out because I forever have people hot linking to pics on my site. I generally find them through my stats. I must say I have had pretty good luck getting them to remove the link once I email them but maybe that is because I come across a little nasty. ~

LoL I try to be nice but when someone is ripping off my images for a freakin bikini contest I tend to get ticked (that was the last genius I caught hot linking). LoL

LoL You would be amazed at how many emails I get in a week asking if I am "the girl" on the site. My reply is "Which one?? There is only like 20 of them" LoL

Does anyone know of a good hotlink tracker? I have this client who only wants to know who's hotlinking (she likes to send nastygrams) but doesn't want to prevent it. Cpanel had a semi-decent tool for this and she's refusing to leave my old server because of this. Does Hspere have anything like this?

I know I ould prolly code my own but I'm busy transferring accounts. The quicker I get her off the old machine, the quicker i can stop paying for it
