catchall and mail forward

this does not work correctly... actually (to rephrase) this does not work at all.
In my service domain i have several email addresses, including one "admin" that is a catchall.
I have a redirect (also admin) which is also a catchall (the system makes it catchall by default because it's corresponding email address is).
I do NOT have an address "support".
If I send an email to "support", it just sits in "admin" box and doesn't get forwarded.
This occurs on mail and mail1 on other domains too.
I figure its an H-Sphere thing. (I'm pretty sure it all used to work).
I've only tested this on Unix.
I am a not happy man, ... see?
(i'll show you again.... )
Any solution?
thanks, murray.

I had something similar, don't remember if it was the exact same or if it was getting double emails. None the less I found it was a problem to have catchall and a mailbox and a forward all in one.

What I've done and suggest to my clients is to make one forward called catchall@yoursite.com. Don't make a mailbox for it, just a forward. Mark it as the catchall and have it forwarded to a mailbox that you check regularly.

"So you have a foward and a mail box? Why?"
i thought this was how it works. A mailbox to receive and a forward to send it on.
are you saying just have one or the other for any given address?

Yep just one not both.. If you make a mailbox then a foward the mail seems to just sit there.. You should only have a foward if you want it to foward to anther address..

Not sure why every one wants to make 2.. Your not the first to do this, I just don't under stand why anyone does it.. LoL

What would be nice is if PSoft came up with a vacation/responder for the mailboxes.

Oops .. . this should probably be a new thread .. on to other things

One reason could be that they want to be able to access their email from their local PC as well as webmail. If you read your email on the web and delete the message, it won't get downloaded the next time you log in from Outlook let's say.

With the box and the forward, you could have all your messages go both places - to the box you access with Outlook and the box you access via the web.
