Four months constant problems with Matrix

4 months constant mistakes and problems with Matrix.
They speak that in all are guilty PSOFT.
I constantly make excuses before clients.
As long it will proceed!

Constant mistakes with FrontPage, with ASP.NET, with access in the control panel.
You can find out all this from this forum.
Whether will be Matrix to work stably?
Or I am not right in the accusations?

I think you are either a very picky critical person, or you have far more problems than many of us, come on now 4 months of problems? I have not even had to put in but one support ticket, about some DNS issues right before these big DNS problems.
You have to understand that ANY host using windows 2000 for hosting, and any customer using it for hosting, is going to have issues arrise, it is the nature of w2k. One can not expect w2k to run flawlessly under loads, I have seen this with more than 8 hosts (4 that I have been a customer of), it seems that nothing can be done to help ASP, much less ASP.NET work great all the time. I am sorry about the problems you seem to have, of course there is nothing I can do about them, but hopefully you can get through them.

I too agree that Windows just ain't a "problem free" hosting solution, you're gonna have the same problem no matter where you go. Only difference is how fast problems get rectified, and I personally feel that Matrix is doing a great job.

Hsphere is another one causing quite some problem, but after using it for sometime now, I have to say that no other CP (for hybrid hosting) come anywhere near it. Since there is no better alternative, what's there to complain?

The only issue that's been bugging me for quite sometime now is actually Matrix's vulnerable position since it depends greatly on Psoft. On numerous occasions, I have seen support expressing how helpless they are since Psoft is working too slowly. It will be good to know if Matrix's got plans to work around this.

At the end of the day, I think it's all a matter of adjusting expectations. To be honest, the kind of features and services provided by Matrix at such afforadable prices ... I can't find anyone else I'm willing to put my money on. I'm staying with Matrix for good ...

May be it is Windows 2000 or may be it is how Psoft's software works on Windows 2000. In my experience, I have had Windows 2000 websites worked well under other hosting company ( Maximumasp).

I have seen on numerous occasions, Matrix complaining about Windows 2000. I am sure there are inherent problems with Windows 2000, but on the other hand, I feel Matrix should do more to stay on top of Windows 2000 issues.

For example, Matrix supports ASP.NET, but it has not installed ASP.NET mobile controls on their servers. Small things like this go a long way in making Windows 2000 hosting better.

I truly like Matrix support and the control HSphere gives me as a reseller. I strongly feel that both Matrix and ourselves have to work thru' the issues to make this a great hosting place.

By the way, I am going to stay with Matrix for good.

Thanks
Naga

Thanks fo the input and compliments.
I also agree that 4 months of problems is a bit of an exaggeration, but if I were hosting on windows 2000 I would certainly feel your frustration. This is exactly the reason why we have started the new "II" plans offering CPanel on a FreeBSD environment. Anyone who has been in this business a few years could not argue the fact that is the most stable system out there.

I know Psoft is slow and they do have comptibility problems with Windows, but please these guys especially Brad and Mike are working around the clock pretty much since Chrismas working this out the best they can.

If you want a nice GUI Panel AND Windows hosting there will be problems. You can get some nice windows hosting, but not usually in a shared environment with a control panel like H-Sphere....much less unix capabilities and billng features. Theres a price to pay and you have to decide whether the good outweighs the bad. Personally like landiserve said, I have learned my lesson over the years and seen this on countless servers. (Ours and others) and will ALWAYS host my own personal stuff on a Unix environment.

I get very tired of hearing the let downs of the Windows operating system. Not as reliable, not as fast... Hmm...I work for a very large corporation and we never see the issues that a lot people say happen. Both Linux and Windows have their share of problems. I know reliable Windows hosting exist, I have a few clients at Halfprice and they are pretty damn good as far as up time. But you have to look at the whole picture here, Vortech offering Unix and Windows accounts for one reseller plan is really nice. Also, I have been with quite a few other resellers and I have to say they all have there problems, but Vortech in my opinion is a couple of notches above the rest.

I know it gets old hearin it, ,but its still a fact. My wife works for one of the biggest companies in the entire country,, Bank One,, and they constantly have problems with their Windows intranet and internet. Its great for a network,, but not hosting.

Isn't hotmail.com still running FreeBSD for their stuff? I think so.

The MS Passport is powered by .NET servers, and man it is down 20-30 min a day, and it has "redundant" servers!
