I wanna be #1
A client just asked me a great question that I couldn’t answer.
If you type a word or letters into your address bar like “cbs” for example you will be taken to http://www.cbs.com I have a client who has the name cruisin.net. When you type in just “cruisin” you are taken to http://www.cruisinusa.com/ There is a website http://cruisin.com/ but “cruisin” doesn’t resolve to that name or my client’s site cruisin.net. How can I enable the root word or letters in domain names to resolve to a particular site? Thanks, b |

It has to do with the google toolbar. Google takes over when you type a word in the address bar.
type "cruisin" in google and and you get the same site as number one. |

You are using Firefox, this is why it takes you to the site that pays more per click. If you try IE it takes you to a page with links of sites that pay the highest per click rate.
So the way to do it is signup with one of the domain handling sites or Google AdWords, Yahoo, MSN... hope this helps. I think www.sedo.com is one of them! |
