Issues with the ticket system should really be in a seperate post, this one is for follow up issues relating to the outage.
saint9999 when you say email "issues" can you be more specific? what sort of issues are you having? .. the outage did take down a couple of mailservers, so anything sent during that outage may have been delayed by a few hours. |

We just lost the abilitiy to get emails for a few hours. Which sounds related. 2 Questions if I can please:::: 1) How do we get notified of changes at vortech via email? 2)Is there anyway of telling what mail server a domain is using or for that case what the webserver name is. Thanks Joe |

It probably was related, I had several of the mailservers showing as down during this period.
Subscribe to the announcements forums is probably the best thing, most of the time things are posted here in advance. You can see what mailserver a domain is on in a couple of ways, in the control panel, just go into the DNS Editor and see what the CNAME is for mail.domainname or just use TELNET from the comman line TELNET mail.yourdomain.com 25 It should reply back with the server name in the greeting e.g. 220 mail10.hsphere.cc ESMTP |
