IP change broke my google ads
As requested by the home office, I recently changed a client website from a dedicated ip to a shared ip.
My problem is that now my google ads do not display properly on http://westminster-arch.com but do display properly on http://www.westminster-arch.com Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone know how to correct it? Thanks, b |

It probably is unrelated to IP changes and has more to do with cookies that Google is using - I experience exactly the same thing on one of my sites that hasn't experienced any changes. I use www. and I get the ads, I use just the domain.com and I get public service ads.
{edit} Okay, perhaps is has nothing at all to do with cookies & more to do with the info Google's storing about visits to your page & the way they serve up ads based on content. Basically they're treating www.mydomain.com as distinct and separate from mydomain.com ....perhaps its a glitch in their tracking system. Incidentally, my site had been running ads for a while, I turned it off (via CP) for a week while I worked on updates, etc. and when I turned it back on all my ads had reset - so it appears they're very sensitive to changes at your site. Thanks John!
Thanks John. Maybe changing the ip was akin to turning the site off and on again.
I have inquired to google but their response time is slow. b |

more:
Tip: If it's been more than 4 hours since you added the code to your pages, and you're still seeing PSAs, check that your page doesn't contain any content that is against our program policies, and that you're not blocking our crawler with a robots.txt file. You can also send an email to adsense-tech@google.com. They'll be happy to look at your pages to see if anything is broken. ----------------------- sorry about my last post maybe this one can help you ?

answer from google
Quote:
Thank you for contacting us about your Google ads. We're sorry you're experiencing difficulty with the ads on westminster-arch.com. Please note that the crawlers used by Google AdSense index content by URL. Our crawlers consider URLs such as www.westminster-arch.com and westminster-arch.com to be different URLs, so we may index them at different times even if their content is the same. We deliver Google ads to a web page based on the content on the page at the time it is crawled. At this time, crawling is done automatically by bots and we're unable to control how often our crawlers index the content on your site. Please feel free to reply to this email if you have additional questions or concerns. Sincerely, Khalil The Google AdSense Team |
