Question for my fellow Canadians
I don't do CC processing yet. I haven't really gotten enough of a customer base to justify the costs, but one of my customers has just decided to leave because I don't have CC processing. So, now I am rethinking those costs.
From a quick search about what is involved... I need a merchant account at my bank, and a gateway from some provider. Have any of you found a cost effective way of handling CC processing? I have seen anywhere from 8% to 15% of a transaction would be the costs of doing an online CC processing transaction... ouch. I do offer PayPal, but I think some of my customers would want a payment method that does not require them to create yet another account somewhere. |

I believe that creating an account in PayPal is now OPTIONAL for someone submitting a payment. I haven't tried it out myself, but I've seen the notification about the change. I know PayPal has had some problems, but if you must start out on a shoestring budget for hosting, I don't know of anything else with No monthly mins. or startup costs. hground |

Yes it is now. In my case, i asked my bank for that, they provide themself CC processing, there's no tax on the payment, just 1€/month . It may exists the same thing everywhere i think. |
