SSH- How to Approve
A client wants to use SSH access, and submitted the request.
I am processing his trouble ticket. How do I approve it, and do I need to make any other changes to his account? Once approved, what user id and password should he use for access? The same as his hosting account? Thanks |

We must approve all SSH access, the user that is asking for SSH should have all of there contact info filled out as well so we know who has access at all times to the systme. We also aduit these to make sure they always have it. If it does not we turn SSH off for that user to try and keep our systems as safe as we can.

This is the developer for the church that my senior systems engineer goes to. So, do I submit a trouble ticket to get access approved, or what?

I believe you can request it from within your control panel.

If you want to request it for them just login to the user side and look under FTP I think that is where SSH request is.

treeves when a customer requests SSH by clicking on the link in their FTP manager, an email is sent to Vortech Tech Support to action, as the reseller of the customer you just get an fyi as well, generally there is nothing for you to action. Their SSH login will be the same as their FTP login iirc.

Cool. Thanks for the heads up. Now I can just sit back and play a quick game of Pong.
