Problem with transferring domain name

Hey guys.
A few weeks ago, I had put in a request for a domain name transfer with the company who used to host one of my clients websites.

This however, was before the addition of the NS3.hsphere name server being added.

Finally, after weeks of phone calls to try to get this company to transfer the domain name, they finally did, however I forgot to tell them about the dns change so they sent it to the old NS1 & NS2 nameservers.

Now, this domain name is set up under NS1 & NS2 but is looking for NS2 & NS3.

Is there any I can change this to make the domain name be set up under NS1 & NS2 or do I have to go through another transfer request with these guys all over again?

Thanks.

no, you have to get them to update the DNS again. Why can't you just get the registrar info from them, so that you or your client can do it?

If your client owns the domain, they should get access to the registrar.

who is the registrar?

No, when I had this host register the domain name, I knew very little about stuff pertaining to domains & hosting so I simply asked them to register it, no questions asked.
I recently did a whois query on it though and it turns out they listed themselves as the owner of the domain name so I'm assuming it's listed under that company's registrar account which I'm sure they will not give me access to.

It's registered under bulkregister.

Can I ask them to simply drop the domain name? My client's starting to get a little frustrated over this whole ordeal so I'm just looking for the quickest possible solution.

thanks again.

Can you prove ownership of the domain? Meaning do you have a company that is the same as the domain name?

If you do, I would seriously start by getting the domain ownership changed to reflect you as the owner. This isn't the first time a registrar or domain reseller tried to maintain ownership, only to keep the customer (you) on a leash.

Are you willing to share the domain name, so that maybe someone here can take a look at the whois - you can PM it to me also if you're comfortable with that.

Sorry it took so long to get back. I sent out 2 additional emails & left 1 phone message with this company but I have been unable to get anything done. To keep my client happy, I told her I'll throw in some free upgrades to the site design & 1 month of free hosting due to the inconvienence.

The domaiin name is "fitrainingstables.com".

My registrar is GoDaddy so I put in for one of their transfer requests to this company but never heard anything more about it. Like I said, I've tried emailing this old hosting company(Live Cam Software) but have received no reply & I left a message on their office's answering machine but received no reply.

What else can I do to get this email address? I actually used to do business with these guys but had to sever our relationship due to the fact that I simply wasn't making any money off of reselling their products & I'm wondering if that's the reason why they are now ignoring my attempts to retrieve my clients domain name...simply out of spite.

Thanks in advance.

well, it looks like Loujan International has domain ownership, so first your customer probably has to go back to find out what the agreement was when she got this domain. Because she's not listed as the registered owner, she cannot really do much about this, other than to try and send bulk register some documentation as to the ownership.

It's not going to be easy, but I would recommend that, unless if this is a personal friend of yours, you charge for your time, and don't get too involved in seeing this through. It could turn out to be a real nightmare.

I wouldn't recommend trying to make any contact with LiveCamSoftware.com - they'll probably just give you the runaround - hoping to keep the client for themselves. Instead, concentrate on BulkRegister to get this resolved.

I finally got a response from one of the guys who works at this place. About 2 weeks before I sent this email, I had applied for a domain name transfer with GoDaddy for the FITrainingStables.com domain name. The email address the transfer was sent to was traffic.surfer@livecamsoftware.com. After receiving no reply, I then sent these Live Cam SOftware guys an email asking that if they won't transfer the domain, if they could at least go into their Bulk Register account and simply switch the domain name servers to the new dns's. The following is the email they sent to me in response but I don't understand what he's telling me to do. Anyone here understand this?
---------------------------------------------------------------
Ryan,

Randy forwarded your e-mail from last week to me. In response to your question about having us personally change the dns ourselves, the answer is no. This is your customer and your problem, not ours.

I am not too sure what you sent to traffic.surfer@livecamsoftware.com, but you must go to whomever you are going to do the hosting with and request a change to their servers!

They may require some information from your customer to verify their acceptance of the change of hosting, but a hosting company can facilitate those changes.

Do this and your customer will be set to go but like I said, we're not going to spend what little available time we have doing your work for you. This is something you have to take care of on your own.
----------------------------------------------------------------

So what exactly is he asking me to do to change the name or is it just a run around? At this point I'm almost about to tell my customer to just choose a different domain name.

Thanks in advance.

I think this guy doesn't realize that they are the registered owners of that domain name, or he's a complete idiot or **** (fill in your favorite bad word) and is trying to make your work more difficult by not doing anything about it.

If you want to spend anymore time trying to deal with this domain, make sure they understand that you cannot make any changes to it so long as they claim ownership of the domain, and you or your customer doesn't have any access to make changes to it.

Aside from that, this guy sounds like a real jerk!
