Does this lingerie site also need to be cheap? If so, I'm afraid that "cheap" and "professional" don't typically go hand in hand

hey--tell me what you want the site to do and i can shoot you an estimate--we do sites all the time. Typically we design and produce them, but the design portion of our quotes usually runs from $850 up to around $1200 and that gets you three design concepts...

production of the website runs a bit more.

yeah, we bill at least $135/hour so that adds up pretty quick--our cost of living is probably a bit different than in Florida as well...but you are lucky to have the in-hous boys take care of yours--although if you are ever looking for freelance photographers or anything

Guess I'm lucky, have currency on my side so can charge a lower rate in US$ then most US based developers.

Our standard rate for website development is $25 US per hour, with an average site taking around 50-80 hours total effort; elapsed time is obviously longer (includes design, discussion with customer, requirements definition etc) , obviously the more complex the requirements the longer period of development required.

Recent site created is

If you can find a template at 4templates.com or templatemonster.com you'll save yourself a bunch of design costs .. imo design is always where the time and money is spent, content is usually the easy bit.

I have the exact opposite problem, content is the HARDEST part getting the design is EASY, getting the content is like pulling teeth, no one wants to give it.

True getting the content can sometimes be a real PITA from some customers, but once you have it, integrating it into the site is usually pretty straight forward if you've already got your design and layouts agreed upon. I generally set my customers deadlines for delivering what I need and if they don't make them then they get pushed down the priority queue a little.

yeah, if it weren't for content we could turn sites in days! content often pushes us into the multiple month category!

Chicago can't be more expensive than Florida. No way. When I went to VA I almost fell out over how cheap stuff was. LoL

Try buying a house in San Diego with median home prices over $400K, and most new construction targeting the over $600K crowd... of course, we're better off than San Francisco.

Well, we have new homes here over the $1 million mark. I saw a billboard the other day for new homes starting at $600k and going over $4 million. Way outta my price range. LoL

I do have to admit we are kinda lucky cause we at least don't have to pay state income taxes.

Vixen, but I looked on realtor.com the other day, I can find a house around Orlando for WAY less than 400k, quite a few of them, the average price is sure not 400k in FL. TX is a lot like FL with taxes, no income taxes, but the sales tax stuff gets pushed really hard.

(edit, removed my OFF subject even more portion, I had too many windows open when typing this reply up)
