H-Sphere Upgrade 1/18/06

We will be upgrading H-Sphere to 2.4.3 patch 9 starting at 1:00PM EST (18:00 GMT) on 1/18/06.

The upgrade will include the control panel as well as all Unix web, Mail, MySQL, and PGSQL servers. All NT, CF, and MSSQL servers have already been upgraded. Control panel access will be intermittent during the upgrade as well as other hosting services while their servers are upgraded.

Updates will be posted during the procedure.

What is the current status of the upgrade?

NT34 seems to be down right now. Is it due to the scheduled upgrade?

This is just a rough estimate - but I suspect the CP itself will be back up within the next 3 hours.

Why did you choose this time to do the maintainance in day time and not at midnight as always?? I think it will be better for the majority of us if you continue doing this at night.

Or is there a special reason for this?

Every time there is an update or maintenance done, at least one person says something along the lines of this. (I'm not knocking you, im just commenting on the fact.)

Dont forget your day time is someone elses nighttime, and they are probably best to do these updates when there is the least amount of activity on the servers.

You're right in this, but I doubt there is less server load when it is day time in the American Continent (USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, etc.) where very probably most of Vortech users are.

The location of Vortech's servers and the relation to our time zone is also one of the reasons a lot of us use their services and not of a company located in Europe, for example.

I respect the users of all around the globe but I think that kind of decisions should be taken thinking about the well being of the majority.

hmm true. maybe they wanted to do it then so that psoft can be brought in to help if something goes wrong.

It broke Apache on mail-mail6 but that is all fixed up. We haven't found any other problems. If anyone else notices any, please let us know at support@vortechhosting.com
