The sending part shouldn't be too hard but I'm really interested in the "receiving" part of this question too.

As for receiving mail. you could have it go to one (or more) pop accounts on the vortech mail server and use a pop3 com to check the accounts. im pretty sure there was one installed on the server, altho it was a while ago since i last checked.

Dear all

It seems you have NOT understood my query..

What Iam asking is...PERSONAL Mailboxes.

E.g.,

In my DATING site, when a user searches for another PERSON (male/female), he can express interest by filling a form. The form will store the message in the PERSONAL mailbox (in teh application).

kindly advice

Rgds

couldn't the mailboxes simply be fields in a db table row for a user? it's more like a private message right? you just treat it like an inbox, etc. If you have a user table already for the site, you can store messages in another table with reference to the user id. not sure of anything canned to do this, but you could examine how soopportal or other asp portal systems handle private message systems and incorporate that mentality into your application.

actually, you could probably use a combination of soopportal and geckolinks to make a dating site template and you are practically done.

interested to hear more about your application.

Most of the portal systems have PM with an option to allow you to send the message to the recipient rather than just send a notification of the message.

Other than send, receive and list messages, what further enhancements are you looking for?
