When looking at the comparisons between the different HSPHERE plans, under web server disk space that is shown, it says:
"Web Server Disk Space is based on allocation." Does that mean that the disk space listed is my total disk space allowed for all my clients? (I'm assuming yes, but my brain is not working well today!!) Thanks, and sorry for the dumb question! |

You can't oversell the disk space. What you allocate is whats counted regardless of the usage for all clietns totalled.

Can we buy additional disk space, or do we have move to a plan that allows for more disk space?

You can easily go over, it will cost more though, but it is still reasonable, but if you were to go over much I would recommend moving to a higher plan to get more "bang for the buck"

You get a better deal if you upgrade to a higher plan.
Disk space sold on allocation overage is billed at $0.05 per MB |

Also if your clinet was signed up for the year they bill you at the year even though you may be a month to month user. My problem was I went over 400mb for a day and was billed 240+ dollars (ouch) I understand why it happend and they gave me a refund but it was bad because there was no warning...
When can we over sell disk space like we do with bandwidth? |

i agree this will be great once you get it place. it is really the only problem i have with vortech... i've been a bit stung by this ... in fact i still am. my monthly bills are over the plan cost i have chosen...
i have to do something soon ... but there are so many plans and since users can change their own space limits in the control panel i am not sure who it is hogging up all my allocation. can anybody help me out here -?- is there a way to see all of the plans, at a glance, and how much space they are allocated and using? there has to be away but it is not clear to me (still a newbie i guess but gettin there) i would love some help with this... frustrating ... a little embarrassing, natch. |

Under Reports in your reseller cp is a Disk Usage Report. It gives you disk usuage for a specific period by plan by account.
Open your reseller cp Click on Reports in left menu Click on Disk Usage I use the following 2 settings to start Select to and from for the current month (Nov1 to Nov 30) Change the entries to display per page to 50 unless you are on a dialup connection You will receive 1 row per account with their total disk usage. I then modify them by user, plan, usuage type if I need to after viewing the first report. As for users being able to change disk space in their cp. You do have control over that if you want. In resources for a plan you can set the max mb they can have. So you can allocate 100 mb for the plan and then set 200 mb for the max they can raise it to. Of course you can also say if you want to charge them a recurring fee for any ammount between the 100 and 200mb levels. |

Unfortunately though none of the reporting shows allocated disk space which is a bit of a pain, however you can view the total allocated in the admin control panel under "reseller prices"
