Control Panel
We are going to be concentrating on the Control Panel today. Consequentially it will be up and down today. Ticket may sit a bit longer than usual and phones may or may not be answered. This was scheduled for yesterday but unfortunately mail6 decided it was more important :P. I apologize in advance for any problems this may cause, but hopefully the result will make everyone much happier.

Thanks for letting us know David. Dan or David . . . any updates? Maybe it is just when I try to get in, but it's been a couple hours. If it's going to run into the morning I'd like to post something for my customers so I don't get a bunch of emails.

couldn't find anything physically wrong with the db server. dumped the db and are int he process of restoring. Then a full vacuum. Hopefully it will help. Not sure how long but I would guess a few more hours yet.

Thank you my friend. I went ahead and put up for my customers that it would be down until morning. Rather look like a hero than an a**hole.
For those of you who have never been through a vaccum . . . if I remember correctly all your ticket history (if you use the built-in system on Hspher) will disappear. Typically not a big deal but that is the only negative I can remember from it being done.

as i am often a vocal critical of the control panels speed and reliability - if feel i should be the first to say "good work!"
it's 7:45 est, and the panels are moving the fastest i've seen in 2 years. amazing work guys... really. jim |

I'm also a vocal critic of our cp speed, this is also the fastest I've seen it since I started, all I have to say is good job David :-D

Yup, best speed in several years. Unfortunately, we had to wait so long for it to be fixed. Once again, many of us lost the illusion of credibility with our customers.
Kudos to the final result however! |

OMG, This is such a huge improvement. Going to any control panel related task was something I have dreaded for a long time (knowing that a few clicks would = several minutes).
This is amazing, Much appreciated. |

Hopefully it stays this way. We really didn't do anything different that we did a month and a half ago. We will do this monthly if necessary, but a full vacuum should have cleared it up. Time will tell.
