Need help uploading site files
Can anyone tell me how to upload or publish website files prior to the DNS propagating. My Service account is fine. It is a client site that I wish to set up. The account has been created and a plan has been assigned, I just don't know what the path is using the ip address.... ipadress/????/????
Sorry if this is a stupid question. Anyone up late tonight? |

lots of us are up late.. its daytime somewhere.
to up load before hand, you need to figure out what server your on. This information should be included in the email that was sent to the client when they signed up. example: nt26.mydomain.com one way of finding out what server they are on is to log into there control panel and click on ftp/user account, you should see the host Name listed on the right towards the bottom of the sheet. |

hmmmm.... I cannot log into my client control panels, because they resolve to the other hosting provider (at least until the domain propagation occurs). Herein lies the problem. I checked my sign up email and it mostly just refers to the ip address. No server name. However, I do recall seeing this information somewhere. Feel like I'm getting closer.....

Hi QuickStart,
Since you're using cPanel & not H-Sphere, all of your clients under your Service (Reseller) Domain should be on the same cPanel server as you. H-Sphere selects servers randomly when setting up domains on different "billable" accounts under one Reseller while cPanel puts everything on the same server the Reseller is on. |

Thanks for the info. Are the website files kept on the same server as the cpanel? Can I upload site files to cpanel.nocspeed.com/~accountname?

You can login to your clients' cpanel's by using their username and your Reseller password and logging in at http://cpanel4.nocspeed.com/cpanel. There you will have access to the File Manager and can upload files.

Many thanks to all. |
