Urchin Status?????

Hello,

A while back, sometime last month I read threads saying Urchin is coming really soon. Is this true because I've been letting my customers know that a better statistics utility will be available soon. How soon? Is there a date that it will be available. The dates that were posted in the other threads didn't happen.

I do believe Admin stated he would be testing it on our next Win2003 server before allowing it be utlized by customers. We would rather know that it is actually going to work before giving it you guys and then having to (1) deal with issues because it wasn't tested and/or (2) take it away because of issues.

That's great and thanks for the update. I think many of us would just like an estimated target date that we could give our clients.

I have at least three who have asked me about alternate hosting solutions simply for the purpose of stat tracking and I've assured them a solution is on the way. These are companies who do a great deal of search engine placement and some online advertising so stat tracking is extremely important to them.

I think everyone is excited to see Urchin come online. It's just that, in the past, it has been "about a month away" or "just a couple weeks away" and that was over six months ago.

I understand the technical issues involvoed. I'd just like to know something that will help me give my clients some sort of an answer that isn't just "soon".

I think it just became supported by Hsphere in the last update.

The planned price would be nice to have too, just to know if it makes sense to wait for this or not...

I agree with Two Roads Media and somereseller. I'm pretty much looking for at least the following.

1. A date. Maybe even a "reasonable" date range. You know nothing like between August and next February But not just "soon"

2. A price if any that will be added to use Urchin.

Well it seems Uchin came out with Uchin5 now so I am trying to see if any thing changed before setting up an uchin4 box. I stilld on't have a date till I can find out what changed.

At this point, I'll take Urchin 1.0.

But in the end, if Urchin 5 works well, will you offer Urchin 4 or 5 and at what price?

We will not offer both it will be ether one or the other for a long time to come.
