pop email account inconsistencies

Hey all,

For some reason, my email accounts used in Outlook XP work for a few hours, then don't work for a few hours and none of the settings are changed. All the login info is correct (username/password) and I even have the SMTP set to authorization required as I'm supposed to. Then out of nowhere, I get messages saying my login info is incorrect and nothing has changed...

any thoughts, previous experiences, or comments?

thanks,
nick

same here, but only for email accounts in Win98 - on XP all seem 100% ok.

...so I deleted all email accounts and added again and now seems to be ok.

now my site is back to it's old domain parking page when I type my URL in, but I still have FTP access using the host directory of www.mydomain.com. Add that to the email problems...

This has not been my most pleasureable first 36 hours as a reseller owner!!

tell us your domain name and what it should look like and we can check it from different parts of the country and world. it could be a local dns problem

Maybe related to the small NT12 outage?

ok, walkinglimbs.com appears to be a guy with a violin having a blast with asp links at the bottom to stories, list, etc.

in whois it shows NETARCHITEK nameservers for walkinglimbs. When I go to www.netarchitek.com i see the default hsphere login page.
so which one has going to your old host's oarking page walkinglimbs or netarchite?

From Vegas, walkinglims is definitely a real site not a parked page and netarchitect goes to your reseller login. Is that how it is suppose to be?

whois for walking limbs shows it was last updated on July 3 so maybe you just a propragation problem. WhenI first set up my accounts, my friends back east could see everything a 36 hours before I could because of how long it took Cox to refresh its dns records while they were making network changes in Vegas. I changed dns servers as a test and could see everything.

Hope that is your problem, let us know.

same problem

I also have had the same problem both WIN98 and WinXP.
It was making me crazy, I though I was doing something wrong, but the emails would work and then lockup as in the description in the first post here by las.

I'm catching major slack, any help posted here is appreciated.

Thanks!

I've got a mate with a pretty similar sounding problem to what your describing here with Outlook XP but it's not a server side problem its actually something in Outlook causing the problem (we know this becuase it locks up randomly when using even their own local POP Server and it only seems to happen on one PC out of 4

Now that's an interesting work around.
