Thanks for your input, but it's not this

I can telnet into the account OK, but a regular email program cannot retrieve mail. That customer can use the webmail. But how do I look to him with a mail server that is down for 2 days?

I don't have enough networking knowledge to be sure that Vortech is not giving me bogus explanations. But I find it strange if I'm alone with this...

not having any problems here. Did you try a tracert to see if they are even getting to mail.theirdomain.com

somereseller,

You need to give us the username and password to the account so that we can test it, I will even check it from sat, DSL, and dial up within 15 min if u can email it to me, you can email stephen@vortechhosting.com or email support and give that, however, I think I have mroe connection methods within a few minutes reach than anyone else that is in support(currently anyway, most of them are on cable)
