set to check for new mail every minute
It would probably help if resellers advised customers not to check more often than every 5 minutes or so. Outlook does get itself a little confused if its still downloading mail when the next scheduled download is due.

Yep we are installing a new mail server on monday if all parts are in for it, you can then move to that new system... Doing so will take a little load off the curent system and fix the issue. We will also be installing a 4th mail server to help keep this from happing again as well.

N/P we are trying, we have never seen this issue before out of qmail and vpop and Psoft is not to much help, so a new server or 2 will for sure fix the problem. We know not to wait on them to find the problem next time and just put in a new server..

They even told us, your load looks very low not sure why its doing that but we will keep looking that was like a month or so ago..

Just wondering where your logic is coming from there Brad .. unless you plan on migrating mailboxes to the new servers then for those already on mail/mail1 they will continue to have problems even if you installed another 100 mail servers.

This is bizarre. I have been here about 10 months I have domains using mail and mail1 with many accts and I donot receive errors like this. I am in Virginia. I use pegasus and it checks email between 60 to 90 seconds depending on acct. Currently pop no imap. Anyone else NOT getting errors? I would be suspicious that this is something else besides Vortech. I would suspect isp networks, configurations and routings more so. Are these problems occurring more outside US or inside or at certain times of day? Has anyone done tracing from these locations? That message can appear for a number of reasons. Often people have other email accounts that are old or improperly configured that they donot get rid of.

Sorta off topic did the "vortech mail servers listed as an open relay issue picked up by some SPAM databases get resolved"?

How would one go about doing such a thing? I did not see any options that indicate "select server to use" in the e-mail account section.

Maybe instructions can be posted for doing so?

Thanks guys!

I used to get frequent errors myself, then I moved to a different setup here at home which masks any errors I may be getting. tracert etc showed absolutely nothing wrong anywhere.

The error messages that we get seem to indicate a server problem more that a network one. The filesystem is not responding or something.
