Well all of my domains are on mail1... I have been a customer for 8 months or so... no real problems until a few weeks ago. I just assumed it was a server full issue like I get at another provider.

I use Outlook XP... or 2002... Also have tried other pop web mail clients at yahoo and on other servers with the same issue.

Sincerely,

Mark

yes, I think you're right. Mail1 only seems to be at issue.

Still no response from Matrix as to a possible issue/solution...

I just did. Admin was in this post yesterday, so I assumed he'd be watching it.

I'll post any update I get.

I did submit a support ticket and got a reply quite quickly. They pointed me towards the "Outlook is not retaining its passwords" article on Microsoft.

But that's not it.

Holy cow! I can hardly even type in a Word Doc because the boxes are popping up so fast now. It took me nearly 5 minutes to type 2 sentences! This is insane!

And I have mine setup to check every 10 minutes. Please do something.

Here is the answer I received from Vortech:

This is a problem we have been working on with Psoft and our mailserver technicians. We hope to have this completely resolved soon.

Periodically, when logging into the mail server, it is too busy to login you in and wants you to retry. Outlook 2002 views this as an error and prompts you for your password. This seems to only happen with Outlook. Eudora and other mail clients do not usually experience this. We are working with Psoft to resolve this issue and plan on adding a 3rd mailserver which will also help greatly.

I have been experiencing the same problem over the past month or two, and have been following the threads posted here.

The problem is not only an outlook 2002 issue - I am experiencing the same issue using Agent v1.93 and Outlook 2000 (in addition to 2002). Agent reports a "File Busy Tray Again Later" message (I will make note of the exact wording next time it happens).

Two other differences I can report are that it happens with my domains on the "mail" server (not "mail1"), and that it also does occur in the "non-peak" hours (evenings & weekends). I can track the times more closely if it would help.

My purpose in mentioning these things only to assist in resolving the issue - not to "pile on"!!! In the big picture, this is more of an annoyance than a critical issue (at least to me), but the efforts of Vortech/Matrix in resolving it are greatly appreciated!

I am using the latest version of Eudora and have this same problem from time to time recently. Also I am getting complaints from customers using various versions of Outlook, and spam filter programs like MailWasher Pro. Based on this, I do not think it is simply a client side issue.

It is intermittent, and is usually resolved by checking again at a later time.

Well oddly, I use pegasus(4.0), which I adore and I hardly ever get timeouts. This has been almost a yr. of use. No more than I have gotten anywhere. In other words, briefly once in awhile. I am not using imap at the moment, but did not have problems before w/ imap. If you set your timeout high that can help the annoying pop up sometimes if the network is slow (This is obvious, but sometimes overlooked). Currently, it is only set for 30 sec w/ no problems. It is possible that the isp people are using could also be slow. I see this a fair amount. I am fairly certain I am on mail.hsphere.cc So mail1 could also be the culprit. How can you tell which one you should be on if you can't send mail?... Other than You saying that new customers go on mail1, right?

Actualy new customers are now going to mail, not mail1, you can tell by logging into your control panel, going to domains, go to DNS, then see where the CNAMe for mail.thedomain.com is pointing too.
