server status script new ip?

Anyone else notice that their server status page (based upon the script located in these forums) quit working.

I believe the ip has changed. I did a check of status.vortechhosting.com using http://www.domainwhitepages.com/ and noticed that the ip was : 216.157.144.100

I am not a network tech, so i am just passing this info on, but after replacin the ip with the new one my stats page works again.

Old ip: 69.20.6.180:8080
New ip: 216.157.144.100:8080

There is one place to change it on the main page and 3 on the sub page.

anyone else have a better recomendation, or advise not to do this, please post it so I don't mess up everyones script.

Yeah it's changed, the attempted redirect won't work if you've got port 8080 on your bookmarked URL.

ie yesterday for me

http://status.vortechhosting.com:8080 wouldn't work
http://status.vortechhosting.com - did work and forward me to the new IP

Bookmark http://status.vortechhosting.com you should be fine or use (status.vortechhosting.com) and you should be fine, no need to hardcode IP addrs in the scripts they should be ok with the fqdn instead .. though not 100% certain if they'll handle the redirect correctly.

Yes we moved the status box in house to check all the systems, we left the old one on the outside box just to check the router at http://monitor.vortechhosting.com:8080

Status will keep the same name and all just the IP changed.. http://status.vortechhosting.com:8080 should still work..

We moved it in house just to cut down on outside bandwidth, really no use for it.. We have the one checking the router from outside, it will also check firewalls and switchs but thats about all it will check from there.

you use the full url rather than the ip in your branded server status page?

Yes, thats what URL's are for .. you don't get caught then if they change the IP address
