Nt38 12.13.2005
We are imaging the drive to move NT38 to new hardware. It may take several hours to complete the transfer, but hopefully it will be worth it. I know everyone on NT38 would be happier without the daily reboot.

Estimate completion time?
As I am in Australia, this is happening at the start of the working day. I know this cannot be avoided but how much longer will it be before it is finished? A GMT time would be great too.

You must be f*ing kidding me. Do you people care at all about your customers customers? We have just lost a full day on this box.
How about setting up another machine using your hot swap whilst you do this? Clients are running for the doors, thanks guys. You've excelled yourself again. |

For anyone outside America, obviously these guys think there is a single clock.
Can't even get a good estimate. Nice and handy for those of us struggling to keep our head above water after the last time this box was screwed. |

I know people are going to say, don't put websites you require high availability with this host... But I didn't think that we were talking less reliance than FreeSpace or GeoSpace.
I'II just sit here and tap to myself whilst our client is spending money starting their Christmas advertising campaign today on radio for a website that doesn't even exist. Lalalala - at least that is more than the site visitors get. Always love being redirected to Yahoo search page indicating to the tech unsavy that a website doesn't even exist at that URL. Ie. YOU HAVE LOST THAT VISITOR FOREVER "oh yeah - I went there and there wasn't even a website" |

Yes, I saw the several hours but when did you start? Are we guessing at two hours from now or seven? You must have some idea. And, yes, why can't the other raid drive be used in the meantime?

What do you have on this box? And what timezone are those website positioned? If any? My posts are out of frustration, and finding another provide is easy - but it's already too late. The downtime is now. Not next week. |

Yeah I certainly have gotten that feeling.
I have to take the client wrath on the chin - should have learn't my lesson after the Late November problem. But I believed that "things were going to be better" and there wouldn't be another downtime for the 15 years it would take to get the availability towards the 99% that you would expect as a minimum. Oh well. Hopefully only another 45 minutes. Then the discussion are obviously going to be starting with clients or ex-client. Rather than the screaming we have now. |

Where/when was the scheduled outage notification posted? I must be going senile in my old age, don't remember anyone scheduling downtime for this server.

Can anyone at Vortech shoot us a progress update on NT38 as to what the estimated time for NT38 to be back online?
