SSL doesn't appear to work for vortechsupport.com. I thought it did.

Im looking for an alternative because propanel will stop working any day now.
STAY AWAY!!!
do a swearch at webhosting talk, to see a few threads about it. You can even find it with a basic google search now.

Says they are upgrading the forums...how long has that been going on?

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM PROPANELSYSTEMS! I'm another victim of a totally useless owned licence. I've also purchased intellodesk and it's ok. I just have to move everything over to it from propanel.

GOING ON WHAT.... THREE MONTHS? HE CLOSED THE FORUM BECAUSE PEOPLE WHO PURCHASED LICENCES OFF BART GOT ABSOLUTELY NO SUPPORT. FINALLY PEOPLE WHO'D PAID FOR THE PRODUCT STARTED BASHING HIM HUGE ON HIS OWN FORUM! LOTS OF PROMISES, NO ACTION. I LIKE TO THINK OF HIM AS HOUDINI BECAUSE HE'D DISAPPEAR FOR LITERALLY MONTHS AT A TIME.

Sorry for the caps. I don't get burned very often, but this guys software had so much potential, then he just abandoned everyone who forked over the cash... Not good.

That just seems odd. Seems pretty easy to correct. You may not make everyone happy and some people can be rude and out-of-line, but to go to all that trouble for developing something that people seem to like and just drop it seems odd.

Odd isn't the word! Utterly bizzare is close... I absolutely loved the product. It was exactly what I was looking for. Nice, clean, simple, effective. If you'd like proof, ask him a sales question, You'll probably get an immediate response. Then send him $129.00 for a licence. Wait a week then try submitting a ticket asking something... He won't answer it. Sad but true.
I have 9 months remaining on my licence and I won't be renewing it.

I purchased Kayako SupportSuite. I tried the demo and was really impressed with the software as well as the windows app and the SyncWorks program that synchronizes with outlook. However, I'm having trouble getting it to connect with my installation even though it worked fine with the demo. It's probably something simple but I haven't figured it out yet. Everything else I setup without much problem. The only two things I ran into was when I uploaded my files using WS_FTP it was set to upload php files as ASCII by default instead of binary so I had to set that in the drop-down button to just upload as binary and I wasn't sure how to setup the cron job URL to run the php script every so often but that was easy enough to get some help on.

Anyway, I guess it's a little expensive but it seems really nice.... especially with multiple users. I'm pretty impressed with it so far.

Regarding propanel, he was in a great position to sell that company, wonder why he just fell off the earth.

I often speculate on companyes like that and I would have loved to buy a start up like that, his product was fantastic. Still use it until it goes dead.

Does anybody know what happened to the SSL cert that was generated for vortechsupport.com? Did they kill it when they upgraded? I really hate entering confidential user ids/passwords open like that, especially when I am liable for it.Security is a bigger issue now more than ever, I don't understand why this encryption stuff doesn't get set up automatically w/o having to point it out all the time. Feel like a broken record
