Godaddy nameserver help please.

I recently registered another url with them. I try to put in my name server address and it keeps coming up with errors. Can anyone please help me out?

Thanks
Joshua

That tutorial is from the old godaddy. I am getting

Error Message: Field Validation Error from godaddy.com

Please correct the following issue(s):

# Unavailable error in field Host name1
# Unavailable error in field Host name2

so what if the graphics changed, the dns management background color changed color from beige to grey, I just logged into godaddy and checked it out, the tutorial is still accurate for step by step instructions, and the fields are identical too.

Are you trying to use totalDNS seting or register your own nameservers, or just set a domains name servers.

Either way, I would just recommend calling godaddy, their support is excellent.

I just got off the phone with Godaddy and they said teh nameservers aren't even available. All of my other sites use ns2.hostingdomain.com and ns3.hostingdomain.com and my new site is being told to use ns.hostingdomain.com and ns1.hostingdomain.com but the guy @ godaddy said ns.hostingdomain and ns1.hostindomain.com doesn't even show up in his online datase.

did you ever register those as nameservers with your registrar, like you did for ns2 and ns3

Check under "Domain Host Summary" in GoDaddy. That's where you register your custom nameservers. You probably didn't do that with your service domain for the other 2 hsphere nameservers. Confirm with your HSphere service domains CP panel to be sure they have been added (E. Manager / Server aliases) in hsphere before changing them at GD.

This may help you too - http://www.matrixreseller.com/stepbystep/

I couldn't find the Domain host summary. Can you give me some insight on where that would be located?

I'm assuming your service domain (your main reseller domain) is registered through GoDaddy. This is the one you have to edit.

1. Log into Godaddy account
2. click on your service domain
3. on the right side of the GD interface, you'll see 'domain host summary' - click the "+" sign
4. confirm your custom nameserver entries. If there are any missing, click the modify link
5. add your remaining nameservers (refer to hsphere account for these... ns, ns1, ns2, ns3). You'll need the IP that is given to you in hsphere, enter this in the godaddy interface.

You should be good from here... if, in fact, this is your problem.

Tell me, what nameservers are listed under 'domain host summary'?

Log into godaddy and click on domains, then "My Domains." You'll get a list of your domains, click on the link for your domain you want to change in the list. It'll most likely be a blue link. Then click on Host Summary in the bottom left, there'll be a link for "View/Modify detail." Remember, if you're adding NS4/5, you're doing this for your service domain, not the client domain.
