Although your post provided a bit of comfort from my worst fears, this little line of text still make me somewhat worried. Hopefully Brad will come along and put all my worries to rest...

Aaron, congratulations on the birth of a child. That is always pleasant news to hear. I hope you and your wife are doing well.

I would also like to thank you for posting something to let us know that someone is still alive. On the other hand, please, please tell me that our "valid" concerns are that you can't upgrade to Windows 2003 for whatever reason and that our "premature" concerns are that VT is not going anywhere for years, decades, eons to come!

Sorry we have been a bit busy around here with Aaron gone for his new baby.

But we are still here answering calls and tickets as all ways.. If you have an issue you need to address that in your own posts if for some reason we are not getting your ticket.

Aaron... congrats! I have three kids [like cleonard and ballyhoo apparently] and they are the best thing -- incredibly challenging, but great!

Brad... you had a chance to shift some momentum there and i feel like maybe you blew it...

we all know you are answering calls and tickets... the issue that is being presented here is more related to growth, infrastructure and the piece of mind your customers can have knowing that you as a team are committed to the path outlined earlier in this post.

hope things smooth out now that the proud pappa has returned

I didn't mean to give the wrong impression. I have two but awhile ago we took care of my sister's three while they traveled.
We had 1-11 yr. old, 2-9 yr. olds, 1-3 yr. old and 1-2 yr. old. Boy we learned zone defence in a hurry.

As is many other resellers here, I am also concerned about what seems to be happening with VT. Brad et. al., can you please clarify VT's "roadmap" as you see it....
Thanks in advance,
SRW

Brad, it would really help if you formed your reply based mainly on the concerns posted here:

http://forum.vortechhosting.com/show...tcount_51.html

It doesn't take long for panic to set in when we have our important data and clients with Vortech. And we also need to know the truth about the future of Vortech as we are all tied with it, whether it is positive news or negative, and we are not looking for an assurance that everything is ok, bcos something's probably changed at Vortech. We just need to know the extent of that change and how it affects us.

p.s. congrats Aaron

It's easy to open an account and the charges are reasonable, no need of any monthly activity and no monthly charges. Their new system is great and support is also good.

I have been so occupied these days with the major upgrade of my main site which ended last night in a total disaster because of the unavailability of support (see http://forum.vortechhosting.com/show...666#post102666) that I had not noticed this thread until this morning. Being a Vortech customer since 2004, I totally agree with DVHost (http://forum.vortechhosting.com/show...tcount_51.html) and begin to seriously worry about the path that Vortech seems to follow from now on.

It's nice to see that Brad's back on the forum, but he didn't answer any of the questions posted or address any of the concerns.

We don't even know what to tell clients when they ask about .Net 2.0. You can only tell them "it will be a few months" so many times, especially when so many other hosts are offering 2.0 and even 3.0.

Please give us an actual update.

guys.. gals..
I'm fairly new to Vortech, so I don't know their past, I only know my own experiences and observations.
~$5-8/mo seems like a heck of a deal to have a very flexible control panel and hosting space. It's cheap. I don't expect top quality, live customer service and cutting edge for that price. If your business is so heavily tied in, maybe you should consider a higher priced host? At least have a backup similar-grade offering in another hosting service as an emergency backup.

Also, it's quite possible that whoever you're waiting on to respond and update this thread is [unintentionally?] not subscribed to this thread. Send a PM specifically requesting his/her involvement or closure publicly in this thread, and he/she will surely respond. Nobody wants a tainted image, and I hesitate to think that anyone is intentionally ignoring this bad rep thread.

my two cents

^ Good point - a subscribed person only receives 1 email notifying of a new post. If they don't visit the forum after that post, they are not notified of further posts.

I suggest, if you have specific questions, raise a ticket. Upon reply, perhaps report back here for those with similar queries.

my two cents

Not everyone is a basic client, there are those who pay far more a month, and have been for quite some time.

The whole point of a "News and Announcements" thread is to avoid multiple clients posing the same questions in tickets. This thread should be either locked, and updated as updates are made, or left open and checked reguarly, which is the model they've chosen.
