how to find out which server a domain is on

Is there an easy was to figure out which server a domain is on.

Currently I know of 2 ways
1. the welcome email where it gives the host name: ie nt17.xxx.com
2. manually comparing ip addresses to my instant alias.

But if a domain has a static ip then neither of these would work?

Just wondering if there was a quick easy way In the control panel or something that was missing.

greg.

If you go to "Account Settings", it says under host name. Also, the following ASP .NET page should give you the machine name it's running on:
Code:
<HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE>Domain Host Finder</TITLE> </HEAD> <BODY> <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="VB" RUNAT="SERVER"> Sub Page_Load Dim shostname As String shostname = system.Net.DNS.GetHostName Response.Write("This domain is hosted on " & UCase(shostname)) End Sub </SCRIPT> </BODY> </HTML>

I use to name the servers by colors for UNIX machines and by names for Windows machines... after we got past 6 windows servers and a few UNIX servers it got to be much to figure out what is what and to keep coming up with colors and names... so I just went to the default naming system...

I log into the 'Admin' control panel, do a search for all accounts or domains, then just click on the 'Account ID' and it will give you that information, and lots more!!!

Your welcome! I am thinking about putting together all my notes, tips, tricks (like above, multiple control panel log in the easy way, etc...) into a lil ebook...HSphere Tips/Tricks.
