Cool Is support on a seperate server, and a few more.

Hello! I've been lurking around here, as my host has gone downhill in the last few months. :cussing:

As I write this, my server is down. My host's site is also down (which generally doesn't happen, as my site is on a different server then theirs). They have support tickets on their server, so since it is down, I have no way of reaching them.

Would I have this problem here? I see your support tickets are on a different domain, but is it the same server as your site?

Also, do you allow chat scripts on your servers? Nothing major, never very busy.

I'm sure this is a yes, but are busy forums okay?

Are there any scripts you do not allow?

Do you have re-imbursement for extended downtime? That is the one (and currently, the only) thing I like about my current (not for long) host.

I think that's all my questions for now! Thanks a million.

Vortech's support system is on different servers, so in the advent of outages you should still be able to communicate with them via their trouble ticket system.

Chat should be OK (I think HSphere even provides a script for one), rule of thumb though is that if you have a script thats identified as causing any performance impact to the server and other customers then Vortech will work with you to try and resolve the issue in an amicable way.

I've never seen any mention of scripts that are expressly forbidden to be run, comes back to what I said above really, if you are running anything that causes excessive resource use on a server then expect an email from someone at Vortech

One other thing to note is that for the support system they use kayako, which allows you to send emails for support, or if the email server is down to reply and submit tickets directly on the site. So there should be no reason not to be able to get in touch with them. Also they have 24hour support.

*AND* You can always reach us by phone if for some reason you can't reach our ticket system. Tech Support is available via ticket system, live chat and phone 24/7.
