Not so funny

I lost one of my dogs today, Allyson who was 3 years old on April 9th, was put to rest around 8PM tonight. She died from lymphoma cancer. She had deteriorated so badly in the past few days and she hasn’t eaten in 2 weeks, we did what we felt was best to put her out of the pain she was in. She was the best dog, the most loving, my fiancée and I always joked that she was in love with me by the way she would look at me. So if I am not my usually funny self this is why... Thanks for everyone’s support, I know everyone’s kind words will cheer me up.

Here is a picture of her:

I feel for you Dave, I lost my 15yr old Shep 6 months ago too, one of the hardest things I've had to do was make the decision to have her put to sleep.

On the up side though, its true about time healing all wounds, now I just look at the photos and smile and think of the fun we had together all the time, I'm sure in time you will with Allyson too.

Very sad Big Dave. I hope the dog didn't suffer too badly. I had 2 old dogs die within a yr of each other...a couple. (about 2yrs ago). They both were about 16yrs. Luckily, very healthy and active until the boy passed in his sleep the girl I had to put to sleep about a yr later. I haven't gotten any more pets...too much responsibility w/ what I already have. Besides I have every imaginable wildlife in my backyard. I do often dream about them tho.

Dave, I know you are as attached to her as I am to all of my pets, so I can imagine how you feel. I know it isn't much consolation but at least she is not in pain anymore. I am sorry for your loss.

They break our hearts.

As a dog owner I feel for you Dave. There's something amazing about that unquestioning love only a dog can give.

I know you miss her and hope you find comfort.

I bet she's in a place where cheese is on the menu every meal.

Better to have loved & lost.....

I'm very sorry Dave, I'm not getting notified of new posts and I just came across this.
I can't possibly imagine how upsetting it must be, but I know that my dog is as close to me as any family member, and they provide a comfort that can't be duplicated or replaced. I hope in time that you'll find the need and desire to provide a warm & loving home to another pet that would be thrilled to have your time, attention, and any treats you can throw its way. In the meantime.......Lexxy & I are thinkin' about ya......
