Vacation Message

I am going out of town for four days and was wondering if there was a way to set a vacation message but yet still get my email? I don't see anything in the CP, and I have not had to do this since back in the days of Imail :|.

Thank you in advance.

Mark

why not make an auto responder? It does the same thing, but PLEASE turn it off, I hate those things.

yeah I would need to remove my account... it can forward email, but I would have to make a new one... just seems like a pain... I might have to do that though...

? auto-responder is exactly what you want, use it to set an "out of the office message" telling people you may not respond to emails until you return etc.

Yeah, but I have to remove my address from the system and then setup another one to forward the email to... Just a pain... I just thought like imail there was a place where I could enter a message...

Thanks guys!

You've lost me on why you need to remove your address and setup a new one to forward too ? the auto-responder works on an existing address, and if required you can actually also create a a forward with the same name as an existing mailbox.

Yeah, I sure wish there was an easier way to create an auto-resp. for users that don't have access to the CP - maybe if qmail had some automated ability to do it...

until then, at least there's an option.

in the cp go to the mail info and click "Add Mail Resource". The last option in the picklist is Mail AutoResponder.

I agree it's easy if you use the CP, but what if a user has several email users, none of whom have access to the CP - seems like there should be an easier way for individual users to create their own vacation message.

Granted that the job of the site admin is tasks like this, it would be great if qmail could automate this.

No big deal, just a far off wish
