Email from web server
I have a customer using a form mailer from an .asp page hosted on one of the Micrsoft Servers.
The dns (mycustomer.ca) is hosted on zoneedit and the mail server is a private novell server they host internally. The issue is that when the script on the web server tries mailing the reply to support@mycustomer.ca it bounces from the web server. Any other email to other domains will work so I suspect it is a DNS issue on the web server. Is it possible that it is looking locally for the email accounts even with the mail service disabled for the domain mycustomer.ca? Has anyone figured out a work around for this other than relaying the emails through a different domain hosted elsewhere? |

there are many posts on this issue if you search the forum. the short answer is quite simple. on windows boxes you must use "localhost" not "mail.whateveryourdomain.com" for your smtp in any mail script in your asp pages

you also need to hav ethe mail service disable don that plan, if it is enabled it will be delievering to the local mailboxes, not the thrid party.
