Selling reseller account

Is it generally more difficult to sell a hosting company that uses a reseller account then one that own the servers?

Is there a market for reseller accounts? I am just thinking of my exit options. any ideas?

Since what you're selling is basically your customer base and the income that base produces, I don't know that being a reseller should cause any issues. The issues will come in when/if the buyer wants to migrate the sites to a server they use, but that's not your issue (though you may be called upon to assist sine you know the sites best), that's theirs and they would go into the sale knowing this.

I'll be interested to see what others have to say on the topic.

There's been a couple of threads from people offering to sell their customer base and there's at least one person who'se done it a few times. It's a viable exit strategy.

Hey K,

If you get to the point where you want to move onto other things, send me a pm with what you have to offer I'd be thrilled to take a look at it.

Some particulars I always ask:

What plans do clients currently have and at what price and timeframe.
What are the resources for each plan currently purchased?
Can I just takeover your account here at vortech?
Are there accounts in your current reseller account that are free, personal or of a nature where they would not be included or not generate income.
Are there domain name registrations involved and included. With who, how many.
Do I get to purchase your service domain name.
Do I get to purchase your current reseller website design
Average tickets per month.
What do you offer customers (do they expect you to make all changes in the control panel, website, etc or are you just a host and technical representative.)

You get the idea.
