Hi,
Just wondering if someone could explain what a Wiki is? For example, I understand what a Blog is and what a CMS is but what is the difference between these two things and a Wiki? I looked around for the definition but it appeared a little grey area... Cheers! |

I saw that definition: "A wiki is a web application that allows users to add content, as on an Internet forum, but also allows anyone to edit the content. The term Wiki also refers to the collaborative software used to create such a website (see Wiki software)."
That could be describing a Blog and a CMS also... |

You can't edit the content of a blog though, a Wiki is maintained by the users, a Blog only has comments left by users.
It is nothing more than a simple CMS at heart. |

Interesting info on the openwiki page about the "rel=nofollow" attribute for href's as an anti spam measure. Learned something new today before 9:00 AM. Guess I can go back to be now

yeah I've read of people doing bad things with that with regards to reciprocal linking... you trade links, they add the nofollow tag and make their link to your site worthless (in Google at least).

Looks like the msn and yahoo SE's also support the rel="nofollow" attribute.
Don't know how effective it would be but it would be simple enough to incorporate in a guestbook, blog, wiki, or forum.
