Downtime Email Notification

Is email notification of maintenance, emergency down-time, etc. available? I would like to be alerted IMMEDIATELY if there is a problem. The forum is not the solution.

We send out email notification for large cheduled maintanence windows. We post in the forum if its a temporary or emergency outage.

I don't know if anyone else agrees or not but I would like to be emailed on everything. It would be very easy for you to establish an optional mailing list so that we could be notified. We are not always next to a computer. I would like to have it emailed to a page or cellphone for instance.

I want the same , but there was a problem with having a unified list or something.

Unified list? It should just be opt-in. Make it available and join if you want.

We tried that,, it doesn't work.

for example,,, we have an emergency downtime on NT23... so we send out the noification email. All of the customers on the other 100 or so servers are freaking out because most don't know this won't affect them...

OR...

3000 customers call us all at once asking if they are on NT23..

If its a scheduled thing or network wide problem, you'll get an email. If its an emergency, were already goin to be working on it before most people realize its down. Sending out an email at the exact moment something happens is just not possible.

For now were going to stick with our system.
