Shahed,
The best thing to do would be to setup the Hsphere account for your domains, upload the content to the site(s), and prepare everything on the Hsphere side for the transition. What will actually start this transition, would be the Name Server change at the registrar for the domain. If you have the site(s) completely configured on the Hsphere side, before making the Name Server change, the transition should be seamless with no downtime. |

H-Sphere is going to assign new nameservers for the domains that you've moved over, so unfortunately you won't be able to avoid the downtime when you make those changes with your domain registrar - you're still looking at 24-72 hours of downtime as the changes propagate the Internet.
Unless you completely set it up first in H-Sphere before updating with your domain registrar. Last edited by Carly : 12-24-2003 at 02:32 PM. |

It's not possible to move the configuration between control panels. You will have to setup the email, databases, etc. on the new control panel.

You should just edit the post & fix the typo & no one will EVER know! (like my giving conflicting posts... *ahem*)

email and db updates will be a problem while the dns is propagating if you run at both places concurrently. Name servers you/your isp uses may pick up then new info. Your clients and their users and people emailing them may pick up the old. You'll have no way of knowing who will be routed to who.
Email can be addressed by changing all email accounts on the old site to forward to a temporary domain you set up, and allow time to propagate at VorTech. Forward the email accounts at the VT temp domain to the original domain (assuming it's set up at VT). The VT mail servers will pick up the routing info from the VT name servers and put the mail into the accounts at VT. You may loose some mail during the time you're actually setting up the accounts for the three places. You may be able to work something similar with the MX records if you have access to them at the old place. Handling the db updates is easier. You can do a redirect at the old location to the temp access URL at VT. The VT temp URL will appear in the browser though.
