osCommerce 2.1 contributions???
Two thing actually. One--does anyone think an oscommerce forum on this site makes any sense?
Second--I have been having no luck what so ever upgrading my snapshot of oscommerce because the hosting system is basically hardwired for v2.1--anyway, i have 2.1 working fine, but would like to enhance my ups shipping module to be more like the later releases--any clues on contributions that would do this that were made for 2.1--everything on the osc site is for 2.2CVS or the NEW MS1? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Forget about the built-in OSC and just install the MS1 snapshot. It is dead easy, and much, much better than 2.1 or even the latest 2.2 CVS. Almost all of the mods seem to be for 2.2 and they even tell you not to use 2.1 right on their main page.

Hmmm
What was the problem? I have installed MS1 several times here without fail using their very good installation script. You just have to create the database first in MySQL and you should be all set. If you can provide more details I'll try to help.
(I'm assuming you are working on Unix - I have not tried a W2K install.)

aha the unix vs. win issue
I am on windows and i did wipe all osc stuff from our testing site NT site with vortech and installed MS1 without any visible hitches-----until i went to send email. Then i got some wild error i never encountered with earlier vesions--
Warning: mail() [function.mail]: SMTP server response: 451 See .... a web address that talks about the miss use of LF in email and listed email apps and fixes which involved upgrading?? i don't know anything about the email apps used on the servers for this so I will post a ticket and see if i get anything from the gang at Vortech. any insight you can offer would be great.

Hey that is something that is mentioned here in the forums, you MUST use a custom php.ini if you need the mail() function in php, search for php.ini and there will be a post by admin with an example, thanks.
