Interactive Images

I'm interested in getting some peoples feed back on how or what applications to use that will help me accomplish creating an interactive image. What I'm refereing to by interactive is I need one pattern of an object for example a shirt. Now let's say that shirt has three different sections the sleves on either side and then the main part of the shirt. Below this shirt picture is hundreds of colors. What I would like to accomplish is someone could select one of those colors and then click on a portion of that shirt or drag it up there and it would change that one section of that shirt to that specified color. Then once they have that shirt with the colors they would like they then, would be able to purchase that shirt based on the colors they have selected.

I'm just trying to get a grasp as for what application, that would help me accomplish this. I am a programmer so learning new applications and languages isn't a problem. Just wanted to get some peoples inputs on what they suggested to use.

Thanks for all the help!

I think Flash (with action scripts) it's the best way to do that.

You can send the results to an asp or php form, to make your shopping cart.

If you don't know action scripts in flash, don't worry. It's similar to other scripting languages.

Good luck !

I agree with kpcreativos.

If I'm right doesn't one of the demos with Flash do this type of thing - allow you to move 'parts' around and build objects... or have I seen that on a web site ?

Flash is it. Actionscript is almost identical to Javascript, processes in the client, and can talk to the server and databases via all middleware.
Man you'll never look back, its like programming with pictures.

Thank you all for your input. I will take a look at that and most likely proceed with flash.

ha ha ! Yes , i love flash, but i'm not a "actionscripter"

I have used some script and .fla premade at flashkit.com, with my own "style" and a little help of flash-lovers, here in Spain.

Feel free to PM or email me if i can help you in anything.
